Today I’m spending a sunny time filming one of the sunniest folk songs ‘Tarry Trousers’. This is often the opener in my set (especially if I’m playing somewhere scary!) because it just always makes me happy. I first heard it on Frankie Armstrong’s beautiful album ‘Lovely on the Water’ and didn’t realise until recently that it’s in the novel ‘Dombey and Son’ by Charles Dickens. Captain Cuttle sings it – I love the names Dickens gives his characters.

Hope you are well wherever you are, and if it’s not sunny that this will bring you a little sunshine.

Love, Anna xx
